What connecting an eBay store enables, what permissions are involved, what is stored where, and what happens when you disconnect.
What connecting a store enables
Load your active listings for that store and compare them with your local catalog
Review orders, order details and the documents you print from them
Review buyer messages and reply within that store
Review marketing campaigns, promoted listings, campaign membership and Offers to Buyers
Review active return and Item Not Received cases, and respond to them
Review scheduled listings, listings ending soon and relist monitoring
Compare quantity across stores and apply quantity-only changes you approve
Send supported product changes to the exact listing in that store
Store connections are supported in SellerHint for Mac. SellerHint Web is a separate product; a store connected in one product is not connected in the other.
How authorisation works
You start a connection from Settings under Stores.
eBay shows you what is being requested and asks you to sign in.
You approve or decline. SellerHint never sees your eBay password.
On approval, the authorisation is completed through the SellerHint backend boundary, and the store appears in your store list with its own identity and marketplace context.
Permissions requested
The permissions needed to read the store information SellerHint displays and to perform the supported actions you ask for. eBay shows you the exact list before you approve. The full published list will appear here once verified.
Where credentials live
The native Mac application does not contain eBay application secrets and does not expose raw refresh tokens. Token issue and refresh happen at the SellerHint backend boundary.
Supported marketplaces
Not published yet. Do not assume every eBay marketplace is supported.
Read-only and write-enabled functions
Read-only
Marketing campaign browsing, promoted listings and campaign membership
Business policy review
Order review
Case escalation, declining a return and closing a case — these continue on eBay
Supports remote changes
Supported product and listing field updates you send deliberately
Quantity changes applied through Inventory Sync after you preview them
Message replies
Case actions eBay currently permits: messaging the buyer, accepting a return, and issuing a full or partial refund
Marketing campaign creation, and adding or removing listings from a campaign
Offers to Buyers, after you confirm the batch
Where data lives
Stored locally on your Mac
Product records and your edits to them
Managed images and per-store image order
Drafts, templates and preferences
Cached marketplace information used to display workspaces quickly
Seller-only information such as cost, notes and storage location
Processed remotely
eBay authorisation, including token issue and refresh
Marketplace reads such as listings, orders, messages, campaigns and cases
Supported marketplace writes, processed in order
Multiple stores and store separation
You can connect more than one eBay store. Each connection keeps its own identity, and information belonging to one store is never automatically shared with another: listing values, images, policies, warnings, orders, messages, campaigns, synchronisation status, marketplace identifiers and store-specific overrides all stay attached to their store.
Product Import runs against one store at a time, and Inventory Sync — the one deliberate cross-store workflow — is limited to quantity and previewed before it runs.
Disconnecting, reauthorising and revoking
Disconnect a store
SellerHint stops using that authorisation. Marketplace reads and writes for that store stop.
Reauthorise
An expired or revoked authorisation is restored by reconnecting the store from Settings.
Revoke on eBay
You can withdraw permission on eBay at any time. Marketplace operations then stop working until you reconnect.
Marketplace account deletion
Where the marketplace notifies SellerHint of an account deletion request, it is handled under the process described in the privacy policy.
Deleting your data
Disconnecting a store is not the same as deleting your SellerHint account. See the account deletion page for each option.
Known limitations
eBay applies request limits, and a refresh or bulk operation can be slowed or returned incomplete as a result
A marketplace operation can partially fail; results are reported per item rather than as one outcome
Not every listing field is supported for remote update
Marketplace policies, permissions and interfaces can change at any time
Case-changing actions are not supported and continue on eBay
The supported marketplace list has not been published yet
